KHSA Recognizes Excellence

On Wednesday, March 3, Rose Sigmund was recognized as the Kansas nominee for the Region VII Tom Mayer Award of Excellence.  This award was initiated to recognize outstanding contributions in the world of Head Start.  The recipient should have demonstrated flexibility within their career and have had a variety of experiences with Head Start.  Nominations are supported by letters from a Head Start director, a Head Start staff member, a Head Start parent, and a community member.

In her years with NEK-CAP, Inc., Rose has worked as a classroom teacher, Education and Disabilities Coordinator, and as Head Start Director.  As well as building a number of partnerships in her community, Rose was instrumental in the founding of Kansas Head Start Association and its first President.  Over the years, she has remained a strong champion of the association and its activities.
