Head Start Director – ECKAN Head Start, Ottawa

The East Central Kansas Economic Opportunity Corporation (ECKAN), a not for profit Community Action Agency serving nine counties in eastern Kansas is seeking to fill the position of Head Start director to be based at our main corporate office in Ottawa, KS. ECKAN operates numerous Federal and State poverty-fighting programs with annual revenues in excess of $7M. ECKAN’s Head Start program serves 318 children ages 3-5, additionally the Early Head Start program serves 108 children ages 0-3, both programs operate classroom and home based options. Salary for the position will be based upon experience. This position will remain open until filled.

Preschool Teacher - Community Action, Inc. Head Start, Topeka

Full time, 12-month position. Responsible for planning and implementing appropriate learning experiences designed to meet Head Start Child Outcomes, observing children and completing child assessments, maintaining safe and healthy learning environment, supporting children's social-emotional growth, supervising assistant teacher and other adults in the classroom.
Must have one of the following: AA or BA degree in Early Childhood Education, knowledge of low income families and be accepting of cultural differences. Bilingual preferred but not required.
