Who are Affiliate Program Members? If you are a Head Start director, parent, friend, or staff, APMs are you!
Each year, the Head Start programs that are members of KHSA each select four Affiliate Program Members (APMs): A director, a parent, a friend, and a staff member. These APMs meet in Salina, Kansas three times a year in October, January, and April for APM meetings.
During these meetings, APMs hear regional and national program news, receive updates from the Kansas Head Start State Collaboration Office and Kansas Early Head Start, learn about new initiatives and training/technical assistance opportunities, and meet in small groups focused on such issues as membership, advocacy, and networking.
APMs also determine the direction of KHSA by electing members to the fifteen-member Board of Directors.
The below graphic shows how important APMs are to KHSA and its initiatives and programs. You may also click on the YouTube video at the bottom of the page for more detailed information on what it means to be an Affiliate Program Member. Please join us!
